Launch Nebraska: Summer Learning and Beyond

Professional Learning Webinar Series

 

The Nebraska Department of Education, in partnership with SchoolKit, is excited to announce a 10-session, virtual professional learning series designed to provide instructional leaders with knowledge and skills related to unfinished learning, instructional equity, and remote instruction.

This professional learning series is a component of Launch Nebraska, a roadmap of essential actions to help district and school leaders plan and implement a safe, efficient and equitable return to school.

The targeted audience includes district/school/ESU leaders, teacher leaders, instructional coaches and those involved in planning for summer learning and beyond. 

Each virtual learning session will be 60 minutes in length and held at 4:30 p.m. CST (3:30 p.m MST) on the dates below. All sessions will be recorded and available after the live event.

Session 1: Unfinished Learning & Instructional Equity (May 14)
Session 2: Unfinished Learning in Mathematics (May 19)
Session 3: Summer Learning for Mathematics: Frameworks & Support using Zearn Math (May 21)
Session 4: Unfinished Learning in Literacy (May 26)
Session 5: Summer Learning for Literacy: Frameworks & Support (May 28)
Session 6: Supporting all Students: Focusing on Students with Disabilities (June 2)
Session 7: Supporting all Students: Focusing on English Learners (June 4)
Session 8: Leveraging Assessment for Individualized Instruction (June 9)
Session 9: Supporting Independent Science Learning (June 11)
Session 10: Planning to Pivot: Support for the Fall (June 16)
 
Lacey Robinson, president and CEO of UnboundEd will provide the keynote May 14. Robinson has more than 20 years in education as an educator, teacher, principal and staff development specialist with a focus on literacy, equity and school leadership. Her life’s work focuses on eradicating the student achievement gap, predictable by race, in addition to creating adult learning experiences that honor us as professionals in school system leadership, teaching and learning.
