Research & Evaluation
Research Summary
A review of the literature yielded a study conducted by an independent research organization which found that students receiving the EL Education curriculum (along with professional development for their teachers) scored on average 13 percentile points higher on NWEA MAP Reading assessments than the comparison group not receiving the curriculum. Another study done by an independent research company found that teachers implementing the EL Education curriculum and receiving ongoing professional development experienced positive impacts on their classroom and teaching practices as well as the achievement of their students. No peer-reviewed studies were found. Therefore, there is insufficient evidence to support the efficacy of this program at this time.
