Research Summary
One peer-reviewed study and two conference abstracts were found to describe positive effects of the STARI program. Specifically, the conference abstracts described greater gains in reading comprehension and fluency when compared to control groups. The peer-reviewed study found that STARI students outperformed control students on measures of word recognition, efficiency of basic reading comprehension, and morphological awareness.
