Research & Evaluation
Research Summary
Several studies conducted by the publisher found IXL to have positive effects on student math achievement. However, in one peer-reviewed study examining math performance after 37 weeks of implementation, IXL was not found to be significantly associated with improving the students' math performance as measured by the Star Math assessment (Hollands & Pan, 2018). Another peer reviewed study found that IXL can have a positive impact on student achievement if used extensively (Donnelly & Parmar, 2022). Due to limited peer reviewed studies, there is insufficient evidence to support the efficacy of this program at this time.
