Program Description

Express Readers is a "foundational skills and reading program" emphasizing phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The program teaches "reading with ease and effectiveness" in order "to ensure that EVERY child learns to read". The program's Express STEPS curriculum is tailored to PK–Grade 2 and "contains decodable books, hands-on games and manipulatives, student consumables, displays, and teacher resources." According to EdReport’s Science of Reading Snapshot, this program partially meets expectations as it addresses 3/5 foundational literacy components for grades K-1 and 2/5 for grade 2.
