Program Description
"Phonics Plug-In is a series of explicit, systematic, sequential, and multi-sensory small group instruction for beginning or struggling older readers. Students practice spelling with colored and lettered tiles, so they see, feel, and say the relationships between sounds and letters. Students read only decodable and high frequency words that have been explicitly taught to increase their ability to self-correct to become self-reliant readers."

Research Summary
No peer-reviewed research found. The publishers suggest that students who complete Phonics Plug-In lessons are able to accurately read 1-2 syllable words, high frequency words from the Dolch 220 list, name common digraphs, sound out and label long and short vowels, and successfully blend, substitute, and segment 2-4 spoken words with long and short vowels. Research articles are available on the publisher's website for members via a free account. There is insufficient evidence at this time.
