Research Summary
A literature review revealed insufficient evidence for the Ascend Math program. One unpublished master's thesis found that students in math intervention class made gains in various areas, but no improvement was made in their traditional math classes as indicated by overall course grade. A case study conducted by Ascend Math found that at-risk students made improvements in standardized test scores, course grades, and grade-level benchmarks following implementation of the program, but provided insufficient information about the methodology used in the study and the use of a control group.
