Research Summary

A literature review revealed three peer-reviewed studies in which students receiving the intervention made significant positive gains in math achievement compared to students not receiving the intervention. Specifically, improvements were made in areas like calculation, concepts/applications, word problems, computation, number knowledge, and overall math proficiency. A non-peer reviewed efficacy study also found that students receiving the Number Rockets intervention scored significantly higher than control students on the Test of Early Mathematics Ability (TEMA-3). Given the peer reviewed literature, there is sufficient evidence to support this program as an evidence-based practice.
