Research & Evaluation
Research Summary
A review of the literature revealed one study and one doctoral dissertation investigating the efficacy of the Equals Math program . Results from one study found that compared to pre-test scores, students with disabilities receiving the Equals Math intervention experienced statistically significant math gains on post-test measures. On the other hand, the second study found no statistically significant differences in math scores between student groups receiving the Equals Math intervention and control groups. Due to the methodology of these studies, there is insufficient evidence to support the efficacy of the Equals Mathematics intervention at this time.
