Research & Evaluation
Research Summary
Literature review revealed three studies involving kindergarten students. Overall, children who received the number sense intervention performed better than controls at immediate post test. Gains were made on measures of number competencies and general math achievement. In one study, children receiving the intervention made gains in early numeracy and performed better than controls on a standardized test of mathematics calculation at immediate posttest.
