Research & Evaluation
Research Summary
One study conducted by an independent evaluation agency was found. In this study, middle school students reading below grade level made positive gains in reading comprehension after one year of program implementation, and outperformed the students in the control group on a state reading comprehension measure. However, the gains made by students in this study were not sufficient in bringing them up to a proficient level of reading comprehension on the state reading measure. No peer-reviewed research was found. Therefore, there is insufficient evidence to support the efficacy of Read to Achieve at this time.
