Program Description
Reading is FAME (Foundations, Adventures, Mastery, and Explorations) was developed for Girls and Boys Town in the mid-1980s. Based on Chall's (1967) stages of reading development and designed for students in grades 7-12, the curriculum helps students by addressing problems at each stage of reading development (learning to decode, building fluency, improving vocabulary, and refining comprehension skills).
