Social and Emotional Learning Day 2023

The NeMTSS social, emotional and behavioral learning (SEBL) specialists are excited to join in on SEL Day celebrations! This year’s theme is Uplifting Hearts, Connecting Minds. SEL Day is an opportunity to collectively spread the word about the importance and impact of social and emotional learning. Working together, we can raise awareness for SEL, bring on new SEL stakeholders, create artifacts that demonstrate SEL in action, share SEL best practices and more!

If it’s SEL Day, why the B?

NeMTSS intentionally added the term behavioral to our approach to SEL because we felt it was important to align and connect all systems that support students. SEBL is the systematic process of fostering social and emotional skills among students and adults in order to create safe and supportive environments with positive behavioral and mental health outcomes for all.

Within NeMTSS, SEBL specialists provide professional development and implementation support to build educators’ capacity to systematically integrate SEBL into their instruction and implement SEBL into their layered continuum of supports. You can learn more about NeMTSS’s SEBL Implementation Supports on this web page.
